There are couple of votes , a third reading and a new bill tonight. By the way, I've put a poll up for people to vote on the location of the Summer HoC Meet, and I've also started a thread on the Monarchy Referendum. I'm looking for two campaign co-ordinators. Interested? Click here to find out more...
The campaign co-ordinators for the Monarchy Referendum have been chosen! toronto353 will be co-ordinating the Monarchist (YES) campaign, while TopHat will be co-ordinating the Republican (NO) campaign. If you wish to get involved, toronto353 has a rollcall thread here, and TopHat has a rollcall thread here, where you can post and find out how you can contribute. The referendum will be held on the 25th May.
In case there is no update tomorrow, I'm giving you advance notice that I will be abroad from Friday to Tuesday morning, so Aaran will be covering for me on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Please send any bills and enquiries to him over these dates. Please also note that HoC Update will be quite early tomorrow, so please try and get anything for Thursday night to me before 7pm.
The Space Industry motion and Research Bill passed and the EU Block Treaty has been ratified.
There is a new motion, second reading and third reading tonight.
Tonight we have a new motion and the Carbon Tax Bill has gone to vote.
A number of bills have dropped into cessation tonight and I want to take this opportunity to remind you all that cessation lasts for 7 days before items are automatically withdrawn. Don't let the work you've put into bills go to waste.
Message to all
I just want to start this update with an appeal to you all. As you know, this Friday, the referendum on the Monarchy will be posted and hopefully this will mean lots of outsiders will pay a visit to our forum. I would love it if there were loads of bills and motions for them to read and potentially debate, so can I make a special appeal for bills and motions to be submitted this week, so that we look like a busy and interesting forum! I know that a lot of you have exams, so I understand that you're all busy, but if you do have any spare time to polish up some bills lying around in your sub-forum, or knock out a motion quicker than you can knock out a... ahem. Well, the MHoC would certainly appreciate it and if things get busy this week in particular, we could be reaping the benefits for some time to come!
HoC Meet News
I'm sure you'll all be surprised to learn that the location of the HoC Meet will be London! I've started a thread for you all on votes on which dates you can attend. Click here to vote in the poll. We've done them for a few years now and they're well fun, so come along!
