Are you applying to the college or Fu? I think the latter you might stand a better chance at, but honestly, especially for the college, Columbia is in NYC and is one of the hottest schools right now.

I'm not sure by any margin, but my only friend at Columbia had placed as a semifinalist at a large science research organization and had better GPA and a bit better SAT I believe... I'm not sure of your awards/certificate type things. If they're very good you might stand a better chance but I'm not really sure of them, though I'm not much for research.

Ps. take what everyone says with a grain of salt, no one really knows :smile:

Hey, thanks for your answer. Yeah I agree, Columbia is getting more competitive and competitive, and people who get in are crazy good.. It's like a gamble :frown:

Just make sure you've got a big pot of money or plenty of credit cards!

haha, Columbia is need-blind to Canadians and Canadian permanent residents(treated the same way as Americans for financial aid) so money isn't the biggest problem :smile: That's why I'm considering Columbia over Oxford, where I'd pay a lot less in my case
