Everyone is going to recommend different things. Best thing to do would be to list all the pros and cons of everything and decide for yourself.

I applied for catered but now I'm in self-catered I'm really glad. I like having my freedom of where and when to eat.

Pro's of catered:
No worry about buying food.
Don't have to make it.
Generally better than 7p Tesco noodles.
No washing up.
Can socialise with the whole of your hall.

Cons:
Much more expensive.
Set meal times, if you're a late starter or have lectures you may miss a lot of meals.
Food generally isn't brilliant and you can do better.
Can't eat on your own.

Ensuite pros:
You get your own bathroom.
You can use it whenever you want.

Ensuite cons:
It's more expensive, not available in every hall.

Enhanced/standard pros:
Cheap.
At least you should get your own sink.

"" "" cons:
Have to wait if someone is using it.
Might be dirty.
Bad if you have a weird health problem.

Cook Mews is a misshon away!!

Don't say you wouldn't rather bask in the asbestos glory of the Laffy. It really is such a wondrous place - oh how I've missed it so. Although being in Luxury rather than Basic probably has something to do with it.

Apparently Cook Mews has been done up over the summer - new kitchens and chairs and stuff. Posh eh?

I miss Cooks =[

It has actually, it's all very posh now.

Seems like they're doing the same to most of the places now, does feel a little odd to say the least. Pencarrow and other blocks up around this way have keycoded front doors and all this fancy new stuff, new tables and chairs.. although to be honest I think I much prefer the secondary school chairs and iffy-green coloured tables, just so unmistakeably Lafrowda.
I saw last night =[ *jealous* If you heard a lot of squeeling from 006-010 and then 206-210 and 201-205 then that was me and Hannah going 'OH MY GOD' repeatedly...new carpet in the front rooms, chairs that you can actually sit on, somewhere to put dirty dishes, locks on the cupboards...Less worktop space though...
Reply 13
Yeah unfortunately like hardly any worktop space at all, which is a bit of a shame. Lots of cupboard space though in the dining area bit. Which block did you have the pleasure of visitating last night?
I was meaning Cook Mews =P Went back to cooks with ben (who is on tsr and can't remember my real name and excalined 'Hello Sephrenia!' int he Long lounge =P) and proceeded to squeal an awful lot xD

Yep he's downstairs, it's a tip down there, always nice and tidy up here though. (Hello Ben!)
Should have come to attack you xD His room wasn't too bad..the odd sock on the floor though =P His funky coloured cocktails were goooooood :coma:
I agree with everything good said about Laffy! :yep:
