The Student Room Group

Seeing the general in the specific and the familiar in the strange..

I'm trying to get my notes ready for my fall mid term, and I foolishly didn't write any examples of what my teacher had down for the titles question.
I was just wondering what other sociology students would think are some good examples of the following
The general in the specific
and
The Strange in the familiar

It's been wracking my brain because I have definitions for both but I can't think of any examples that might be exam worthy and am starting to get paranoid I might end up writing something unacceptable or something too broad!
Any opinions?
