new edexcel maths books for old syllabus?
Im studying my alevels privately and i need to know whether the old maths and further maths edexcel syllabus can be learnt from the new edexcel modular maths books that are out. I'm doing my alevels in a year and i could only manage to get the new edexcel books as shops have all but cleared out the old ones. The new C1-C4, M1-5, S1-4 syllabuses seem to be the same as the old ones and it seems to have changed the new FP1-3 and D1 and 2 syllabuses. I have the old D1 book as the new edition isn't out yet but i have the new FP1 book which is different to the old one. So i'm thinking of getting the old FP1 and FP2 books, but i need to know if its possible to learn the old sylabus for edexcel from the new edexcel books! (sorry went on a bit there). Also do you think it's possible to learn the old FP1 syllabus before studying C3 and C4?, thanks.

You'll be fine with new or old C, M and S books nothing has changed.
Good idea getting old FP books if you can, as a few things have moved around between units and the new book won't fully prep you for FP1 (though once you look at past papers you'll spot anything important missed). Maybe look on Amazon or Ebay for a second hand copy.

FP1 is strongly recommended after C1 C2. -

i think the main problem with doing FP1 not having done C3 and C4 is the intergration and differentiation you learn in those modules rather than any particular topic thats the same. for instance some of the polar coordinate intergrations definitely need C4 intergration knowledge.
some1 in my school is learning FP1 at the same time as C3 and C4 but to do the whole syllabus i think u will need to have done the whole of C3 and C4.
