In UCL, economic dept has very close link with SSEES, where they study Econ History of the Europe.

oh really? but I v attended the MA Comparative Business Economics program in the school for 3 weeks and somehow withdrew from there, the course director ever asked me whether I was interested in choosing electives from the Econ Dept, and he did write me a reference letter to the department registry.

its so close you are offered electives for people outside the course after you get a reference letter.

Get a grip, there are no close ties.
