Good dissertation topic?

Im doing my sociology dissertation and currently im thinking of doing it on the music industry and illegal downloading etc...anyone done something similar or think its a bad idea perhaps? thanks

Have you spoken to someone in your department? They're the ones who are going to have to supervise it and so they'll be the only ones able to tell you if it's a good idea or not.

Do you not have a dissertation supervisor yet?
I was assigned mine back in June!

Your topic is quite vague at the moment - i'd suggest doing some reading and see if you can narrow it down a bit!
