Btw have an update about when people should expect to hear from QUB, if at all of course. Emailed them yesterday and got this as a reply:

'As you can appreciate there are so many applications the shortlisting process does take quite a long time. However it is hoped that letters will start to go out to applicants in the next few days and will continue to do so for a week or so after this time.

Interviews are scheduled to commence 9 March 2009 lasting right through to 9 April 2009 approx.

    Regards

So hopefully be hearing rather soon

    Re: Nursing at Queens...
The reason i chose mental health as my second is because i think read somewhere that it's not as popular an option as specialities such as adult and also childrens For some reason disability and mental health nursing seem to lack as great an enthusiasm regarding applications.

My mum was somewhat worried about my applying for it as well lol...........theres definitely some kinda stigma surrounding it especially in northern ireland which is kinda absurd.

I know I think there is a stigma, but the more I thought about it the more it made sense as Iv studied mental health before as part of being a pharmacy tech and having had 'issues' myself in the past I find it fascinating. Ill see what happens with the adult first and then maybe enquire!

Just gave you some positive rep for that it put my mind at ease. At least now we have kind of an idea when to expect a letter and the interviews. Thank you.

Does anyone know what happens after the inital interview. I know there's a health check thing but does anyone know what will happen after that?

    Hi
Those of you who got interview dates, would you mind disclosing the initial of your surname, the reason I am asking is that I got word of an interview on Friday 27th and have to go on the 11th of March, my initial is H, my friends who initial is M hasn't received word yet, she's in bits waiting, hoping to get word this week. GOOD LUCK to everyone who got an interview.

I got one for the 6th April thank goodness I was really worried. My surname begins with B but I think the dates are probably sorted by branch not by name
