Where do I work after I graduate?

Hey there,
After I graduate from Med school, where will I get my placement for my foundation years? Do we get a choice of anywhere in the country, or is the university we go to also a deciding factor? One thing I've heard is that if you graduate from a London university, you're more likely to end up working in London. How does the whole system work?

Thanks

Foundation Programme

Who knows how it'll work in 5/6 years if you haven't started yet though..!

The thing about having a better chance of working in London if you graduate from London hasn't been true since MMC really kicked off... Applications are blinded to where you went to medical school and the number of points you get for your application form compared to other people after the same deaneries and jobs is what = jobs.

Also - would you be an IMS? You might only get F1 training here...

Nope I'm a dual British/Sri Lankan citizen...it'll be nice to be living back in the UK =) have missed it all these years. Working in the UK will be quite an experience I imagine hehe. Very different from the Sri Lankan way of things.
Anyway thanks for the info.
