M2 - Moments (Again)

Hi !
I really despise Mechanics and really wish I hadn't taken M1 and M2 in my further maths course, I know it's really simple I just can't get my head around it and usually takes me at least 3 times of reading the question to even understand what the question is asking.
Anyway !
This is the question I'm stuck on, all help would greatly be appreciated.

4. The diagram shows a vertical section AC through the centre of gravity of a uniform
trapdoor. The trapdoor is a square of side 1.5 m and mass 12 kg. It is smoothly hinged
along the horizontal edge through A.

The trapdoor is held open at 30° to the vertical by a horizontal bar BD. The bar is smoothly connected to the trapdoor at B and to the wall at D. The length AB = 0.5 m.
(a) On a diagram, show clearly all the forces acting on the trapdoor.
(2)
(b) By taking moments about A, find the tension in BD.

I can't even start the question since I have no idea which part the trapdoor actually is.

I hate mechanics
