flemings rules

this topic really irritates me!
Im stuck on one question, its based on the LHR.

Q.
if the current is west, and motion is north. which was is the field?
I think its upwards, which is wrong.

any suggestions?

edit: also, if there is a current flowing through a wire in a magnetic field. would resistance effect the size of the exerted force BASED ON the current? and how?
