Initial results suggest custard creams are not suitable, crumbly as they are they end up with me getting covered in crumbs. Furthermore the high sogginess factor experienced when dunking is an issue.

Right guys, need some help if you can give any.

I'm a prospective student applying for English Literature but I only insured my offer thinking at the time I didn't want to go. I have now realised what a massive fool I've been because I knew all along I wanted to go to Glasgow.

Only problem is I can't get any accommodation because the uni tell me they only look at people who have firmed their offer for accommodation. What do I do now? Do I just look for private accommodation?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

You might still get accommodation. The major thing you need to do is to get Glasgow as your firm, because otherwise on results day if you make the grades to get into your firm that's who will accept you on UCAS. The accommodation deadline for Glasgow is a few days after results day so you've still got time to apply post results, you just won't get the best accommodation.

It's very unlikely I'll get the grades for my firm so I'm not too worried about that right now. :P

I would try to change the firm/insurance offers round but I'm outside the seven-day period to change it so I don't know what to do now in that respect. :/

You could still phone up UCAS and see but honestly accommodation wise you should be fine! I applied on last day you could apply for accommodation two years ago and still got it

I believe you need to make sure both Universities are happy to do it. One to release you and the other to accept you. I suggest calling Glasgow first. This may also only be the procedure if you've made your firm offer but want to change. Glasgow should be able to guide you.

I swear to **** the papers didn't tell you how bad it was. 3000+ people outside of Preston station for over 12 hours. We were told that the rail company had ordered ''alternative transport'' and then 5 hours later they said that actually they couldn't get hold of any coaches and no one would be able to travel until tomorrow (unless they organised external transport).

In the end I just wanted to get back home man, there was 4 people getting a taxi and a guy came back and shouted that there was space for one more, no one moved and then I threw caution to the wind and joined them. I made like 3 new friends and travelled a lot of miles that night. Pretty fun tbh. One of the guys wanted just to get to Carlisle (and the rest of us to Scotland) and we stayed the night at his. He literally brought 4 strangers home to his wife and we stayed in the spare room.

It was really weird. Funny how good friends you can make when in stress. Everyone just tries to help each other.

That sounds stressful but kind of brilliant. The kindness of strangers renews my faith in humanity.

It was sunny this morning when the Queen was meant to be in George Square, but it started pouring after she left, unfortunately. The rain hardly ever deters royalists in any case. Would have been funny if the royalists had been soaked because whenever the crowds for these things are interviewed on TV they're always invariably made up of absolute twunts.

It's a waste of money, that's what I object to. The government is going to slash/remove people's benefits yet they insist on spunking obscene amounts of money on bull**** events like this (yes I know it's the Scottish government who would have organised this one ).
