See the picture here of them looking out onto a lovely river? (http://www.unite-students.com/studen...thurso-street#)
Not pictured is the sewage works in the background which is pretty unpleasant to walk past at certain times of year. Not sure if that translates into a smell within the halls though. -

I think you should have a meeting with an advisor either at the start of or just before Freshers, I can't remember... But I think you should be okay to change. Not sure about abandoning your subject entirely cos I don't think I know anyone who's done that, but tbh I don't see why you wouldn't be able to
Okay, cool..thanks for your help guys! I really hope I get to switch or I'm going to be super depressed :/ haha(Original post by LSD)
You should have a meeting during the summer or during freshers. You should be able to swap, that isn't too much of a leap, one of my best friends went from English lit to electrical engineering during freshers. They were kinda like "wtf" but they let him do it cause he had like AAAAA at higher.

History to Business Economics..I'm just quite a fickle person tbh. I got an A in Economics and my teacher told me I should consider studying it. I live in America right now and the educational system's different so I only started learning Economics this year..I was a few months into the school year (and I had already applied to uni) when I realized I really wanted to study it. I think straight up Economics may be too hard for me though because of the math, so I want to do Business Economics. It looks really interesting as well.

Re: University of Glasgow blether thread
Anybody want a bunch of Level 2 French books? I assume they'll have a similar book list this year. For free since nobody should have to pay for that kind of torture

*plus found some Level 1 French stuff I never cleared out, and Level 1 + 2 Italian culture stuffLast edited by Z-6H820; 22-07-2012 at 17:00. -
Re: University of Glasgow blether threadPersonally I feel it gives an accurate representation of the drinks delivered to us upon waking, plenty of free equipment in the gym, dry weather and graduations we enjoy on a daily basis.(Original post by G8D)
Terrible video. -
Re: University of Glasgow blether threadI'm not completely sure but I think most of this sort of finace comes through on the first day of your course?(Original post by GeedanDK)
Hello guys..
Any idea as when I can expect to receive university bursary? Obviously once I start: 17th September 2012. -
Re: University of Glasgow blether threadIt's so bad! It makes uni look so boring. And Glasgow look so boring. And the strapline "Say Hello to Glasgow" doesn't match the content at all... ugh. Marketing FAIL.(Original post by ArcadiaHouse)

Re: University of Glasgow blether thread
Hello! :-) I'm in year 12 at the moment, and definitely applying to Glasgow for English Lit, but I'm not sure how much they look at GCSEs. I didn't do awfully, but not fantastic either (5 As, 4 Bs and a C), but I'm 99% sure I'll get the A levels I need to get in. A couple of people I know have said GCSEs don't mean a great deal, but some have said otherwise. Any advice/information/whatever would be appreciated, thanks!

I got told enrolment and mycampus etc doesn't open till first of August?(Original post by NoCommentMan)
Has anybody else tried to enrol for 2012-2013? It seems that some classes have been added (with times etc.) but I cannot enrol. Message: "You are not eligible to enroll in term Academic Year 2012-13 at this time."

Re: University of Glasgow blether thread
I've been reading some of last year's posts (like in the early 200s of this topic or in this one) on MyCampus and I'm worried about enrollment being again a PITA.
Since it's a pretty damn important procedure I wonder if anyone is willing to explain how it is supposed to work. I would guess the later one tries to enroll the fewer choices he'll have and I can't figure how that works along with the concept of the meetings with Study Advisers that happen throughout September and your enrollment being actually subject to when the system sends you your login details.Last edited by Kostaz; 26-07-2012 at 04:58. -
Re: University of Glasgow blether threadSince the Advisors are now all aware of what a pain the system is, I think you'll get more guidance at your meeting than the first years did last year. Remember that although the later you do it the less choice of lab / tutorial times you get, everyone in first year is in the same position - you'll all need to wait til you have your login details & meet with your Advisor. Don't worry about it(Original post by Kostaz)
