Encoding

Hi

Do you think The study by Baddely (1966) into encoding in STM and LTM is enough a study to use in the exam.
In my textbook it only has this study, and because it's for both STM and LTM, would you say using this study for encoding for both memories is OK. Or would I need separate or other studies?

They have changed the syllabus for your year so things might be slightly different but Baddeley 1966 was enough for encoding for our year. They didn't tend to ask questions specifically on encoding though, it was more likely to be STM/LTM in general.
You could use it for both no problem. I won't imagine you'd need other studies - but ask you're teacher just to check - because, again, things might be different. If you do, then use Conrad (1964) which is STM specific http://www.ycc.ac.uk/yc/new/HUMSOC/psycho/unit1/conrad.htm
