Muliply = * simple as that

for astetics you could just use the letter x

3*4 3x4 up to you.

It isn't really worth worrying about I can't see any exam board having a
go at you over it or anything like that.

My graphic calc for GCSE has * on it. It's not strange really.

do you mean like in Microsoft Word or something like that? You need to

In any MS Windows program, Alt-0215 gives you × and Alt-0247 gives you ÷
