To cut the long story short, I left school at the age of 16 in order to come to London (I am from easter europe originally)...I perfomed very well at high school and got 8 out of 10 in the final exams of mathematics and 10 out of 10 in lithuanian language and literature...the other 11 subjects were graded at varied grades from 6 to 10...I also graduated from a music school at the age of 15 and have been awarded a professional piano player diploma...
During my time at school I have participated (and won) in many regional and national competitions in the subjects of history, english, lithuanian language and literature, russian language and biology...I had my works of creative writing published in a book and many newspapers across the country...
I was deemed by my friends and family as someone who will achieve a great success in life, but I chose to leave school and use the unique opportunity to come to London and build my life from nothing...
I have now been living here for 6 years...having come by myself at such a young age, I started working at various jobs, overtime just to keep myself going...I slowly built a career and now, at the age of 22, I work as a Personal Assistant to Director and run day to day operations of a reasonably large firm...
I got back to education this year and am now stuyding at Birkbeck, on an Access to HE course, designed as a prep for a Law school in UK...I have already sent my application off to 5 universities, including Oxford (mature student college, Harris Manchester) and sat the LNAT...I am applying for Law, as you might have already guessed
I have good references and am predicted a distinction on my course...All the universities consider the course as a valid prep for a law degree and it satisfies their entry requirements for mature students like me...I did one placement at a reasonably large and respected law firm, which lasted for a week...
However, i also know that those places are insanely competetive, but I refused to settle for less...Overly ambitious or overly confident you might say...I am not...It is just that I feel I can actually succeed in what I do, as I always put my heart into it and dedicate myself to extreme...I have a dream and I follow it...If it doesnt work this year, it might the next...
Still I was hoping you might share your opinions with me here and tell me whether you honestly think I might have a chance at getting accepted...
Thanks everyone...I am so so so scared and am really dreading the day my UCAS will have the first decision on it...

People can't tell you your chance of getting in. The fact is that plenty of people on here with flawless academic records who we assume should get in, don't, and those with far weaker results can get admission despite our sceptisism. You're results sound good (I can't comment on a lot of the qualifications you have since I'm not familiar with them). Everything you've done since coming to the UK sounds like it'll enrich your personal statement and give Oxford a great deal to explore with you during interview. I don't know what you mean by only settling for the 'best', e.g. if you're set on Oxford/LSE/UCL/KCL you may have a difficult time even if you reapply since they're all so oversubscribed for Law.
Oxford tutors look for different things. Some of these are known (passion for the subject, good previous exams results, etc.) but others are less obvious. I don't think anyone here (unless there's a Law tutor lurking around on these forums who is willing to come forward!) can legitimately tell you whether Oxford will make you an offer or not

I'm sure you'll get offers though. Good luck.
I know there are plenty great universities other then those I am applying to, but I want to stay in London and would only move out in case I get into Oxford (even saying it sounds unreal)...I also know they are over subscribed but I really do hope that one of them will think of me as a good applicant and at least give me a chance-an interview or, in case of LSE, an entrance exam...
I actually went to see the admissions officer at Harris manchester befor making an application and have been encouraged to apply, based on the course I am currently studying on and other academic and non academic aspects...I also have been told there are approximately 50 applicants per 5 places for the undergraduate law course there so I am aware of the enormous competition I am up against...
As for UCL and KCL it is also a massive gamble, but all I can do now is wait and hope...LSE is on another diferent league, specially provided that they got a very small ratio of mature students, however, they do accept my course and so I am trying...
Queen Mary is the only university I am not overly keen on, but still would be happy at, provided they give me a chance...
I really really hope it wont be 5 brutal rejections though...

I do understand that but it is still great to hear people's opinions at this anxiety filled period of waiting....

Well from what you've said about your visit to Harris Manchester and given that 80% of people are interviewed, it sounds like you should at least get to the interview stage. Other than that, I can't personally say much and I'm not sure how much others can say either

Reading your story I don't think you'll get five rejections! Presumably you had to do/are doing the LNAT? That'll play a massive role in your case - the 10 applicants per place at Oxford will be cut to about 3ish for the interview stage I think..

I've done my LNAT-not feeling very confident about it...but then again, it is only my presumption...I went in with a horrible headache and due to inability to concentrate, was running out of time and guessed some of the answers, after reading the text just once...The essay was around 400 words long and although it presented some considerably good arguments (or so I think), I got cut off in the middle of the word in my conclusion... I have been stressing over it like mad for the last week and even considered pulling my application out of KCL, as it clearly states that those with a score below 16 will be hugely disadvantaged...i hate not knowing how I did!
Then again, since I am applying to a mature student college at Oxford, I wonder how did everyone else do?

Don't worry a huge amount about it, even the LNAT unis only use it as part of their selection criteria. Besides, people tend to walk out of tests like that thinking they did far worse than they actually did. I read somewhere your supposed to run out of time on admissions tests like the LNAT, it's testing time management and fast interpretation skills as much as anything else.
