Default Biochemistry

Hello,

I recently changed degree courses, from Physics to Biochemistry. So far, i've been enjoying this course much more. The only doubt in my mind is regarding career prospects. How is a biochemistry degree looked upon in both industry and in generic graduate jobs? The math work is much easier, but still definitely there. Can Biochemistry still be considered a "quantitative" degree?

Of course, i'm still very interested in going into a science-based career, what are my possibilities in this field? Any feedback or experiences are appreciated!

Thanks,
Ronnie

hey,

i did work experience at a uni abroad in the summer and i was workign under the supervision of an assitant professor in oragnic chemistry, and all of her students who i worked with, were doing PhD's in chemistry/organic chemistry

they ALL told me that biochem is a really good choice if i want to go into pharmaceutical/cosmetic research in the future - they said its better than what theyve done which is oragnic chemistry degree/masters, and then go into pharmaceutical reserach anyway

i hope this helps but bear in mind im applyign this year to go to uni next year so my opinion of the reputation of the degree is solely based on my work experience...
