I am a college student wo is currently doing my A- levels. my AS grades were not bad - BCC - but they were not impressive either. I want to do economics with finance in Uni and probalby go into investement banking. However, I so badly want to do an internship in an investement bank firm such as Goldman Sachs or BNP paribas BEFORE i enter uni so that I can gain experience. I done a lazy search through the internet and I could not find any experience given to undergraduates. can anybody tell me...

1. if there is any internship or work experience offered my investement bank firms to undergraduates

2. Ways in how I can apply or approach these firm to gain my experience

You can't find opportunities for undergraduates? You'd have to have some sort of brain dysfunction to not be able to find them.

Not that you really should be looking for "undergraduate opportunities" anyway seeing as you're not an undergraduate.

To give you some market colour: Your chances of landing an internship (undergraduate work experience) = 0. So don't even waste your time.

There are a number of reasons for that.
There are many alternatives availble to you.

mate an undergraduate is someone who is completing an undergraduate degree at university (Bsc, BA etc...)

you don't currently classify as an undergraduate which you need to be for all the usual summer internship schemes.

i know there are some a-level programs at certain banks, however they're pretty competitive and your AS grades aren't quite cutting it..

you need to improve those a-level to even have a shot.. AAB/AAA minimum tbh..

your other alternative is to use contacts in your social network to get you some experience, prob your best bet tbh

Just getting ANY kind of experience e.g. local accountancy firm will help get internships WHEN ur at uni assuming u have ABB+ and top tier uni. Chances of working for goldman sachs for an alevel student are as mentioned above..zero! Even if u were at lse with AAA you wouldnt be guarenteed a placement..tht puts it into perspective.
