Default unconditional offer for 2009 entry but regret university choice...

Hi,

So... I applied for university last year and knew that I wanted to take a gap year so I applied for deffered entry for everyone of my courses. On results day, I got into my first choice so I now hold an unconditional offer for entry in 2009 at this university... However, I've changed my mind about this university. Is it possible to withdraw from the university, and reapply to other universities with ucas?

you can withdraw your application BUT you wont be able to reapply during this cycle.. you'll have to wait until september 2009 to start applying again

You could also use ucas extra.. more info about that is on their site.. its like clearing.. but waaay earlier.

As far as I am aware, until you actually enrol onto the course, you are not obliged to go to that university. You just inform them and apply via UCAS again for 2009 entry. Ring UCAS for confirmation on this.

Entry to 2009 has not closed yet so OP can apply for universities before mid-January to be able to start university in sept 2009.

Yes it is a completely different cycle for OP and therefore he can reapply this year if she wishes to.

Thank goodness for that! The OP has a chance of receiving decent information.

OP, you can do this, but have to withdraw from your existing place first, which means you are taking some risk by doing so.
