It might sound stupid asking this on a forum, but...
I want a pet, a really really different one, not a cat, or dog, or fish. Something odd and different (not a spider).
Any ideas? Got any strange pets yourself? Pictures?
I was looking at Turtles because I can feed them salad an stuff like that, they look cool too!
Anyone? I have a dog, a black labradour and she's like my best friend, but I want something smaller that I can have in my bedroom or something, and upgrade it's home etc. lol!
degus are great pets, but they're fairly common.
house rabbits are great too, but they take some training. i don't know many people with house rabbits.
Ants are sometimes considered weird pets. They're very easy to maintain if they're in a good setup. You're a couple of months too late to get a queen though...
Stick insect, and if you ever get hungry dab some marmite on it and bam you have twiglets :P
And the best thing is, once you have had it for a while, take it out of its tank and put it somewhere else, then make your friends look for it in the tank and call them stupid for not being able to see it!
you've got to remember that 'weird' or 'unusual' animals do take ALOT of looking after and have VERY specific needs.
you must research them very thoroughly before purchasing anything, as some can be very dangerous and good animal welfare for these animals is difficult to maintain.
if you do decide getting a strange animal make sure you get them from a reputable seller and make sure they are captive bred as wild caught animals can carry disease and be very vicious.
i suggest either:
a corn snake
or
a bearded dragon.
Don't be tempted with 'funky' animals such as the leopard gecko as they are very difficult to keep and if they are even slightly stressed they will lose their tails, and the tails won't grow back as nicely as they once were, and tend to make the animal look rather bedraggled.
have a good look around as things like giant land snails, giant land crabs are pretty nice to keep as pets :]
pm me if you want to know anymore, lol.
(finally my college course comes in handy on TSR)
