Wow, what's with all the thumbs down? Just a question...
You asked whether a quantitative well respected degree at arguably the best university in the country is good enough?

What did you expect? With 2 minutes reading on this forum you could have answered your own question.

You'll hardly use any difficult mathematics in investment banking, that is why your question is a joke. Unless you go into trading exotic products/structuring or a another highly quantitative role...

Is Maths at Cambridge ok for investment banking? I'd rather not get an economics/accounting and finance degree...
    Yes.

Presuming you're Scottish, but why not go to Imperial, UCL or Warwick? They give you a much better shot at FO IB.

I've only met a couple of people getting interviews, offers etc. who were from Edinburgh and they did Economics degrees I think. You're gonna struggle getting into FO with the degrees you listed tbh.

A&F at LSE/Warwick sounds better to me since they are more targeted unis than Bristol/Bath, and A&F is a good degree choice to break into IB.
    Definitely A&F at LSE/Warwick.

Because not all people who want to go into IB can get into one of those 3 lol

I've already applied to UCL for biological sciences, but wanted opinions on the other two

UCL for statistics and management for business, or Warwick for A&F.
I gather UCL and Warwick have a similar rep with IBs, and A&F has a good history of getting people into IB, but I prefer going to UCL than Warwick so I'm in a bit of dilemma...

Warwick, UCL's IMB course is a joke. Good brand name but ridiculous course, take Warwick A&F, more solid course and a lot more respectable amongst employers.

It's not information management for business if that's what you mean by IMB? It's statistics and management so is pretty quantitative and has plenty of finance and optional economics modules in it. Sure it isn't a Maths or Economics degree but I wouldn't go as far as to say its a joke =/

I wasn't aware UCL offered that course, if so I don't know how it is regarded. I'd still bet on Warwick being a safer bet though, it's more consolidated.

Well that's funny because plenty of IMB'ers make it into FO banking...

    Well the entry requirements are:

    UCL: AAA
    Imperial: AAA
    Warwick: AAB
    Edinburgh: AAA-ABB
    Glasgow: ABB

So maybe the same grades or one grade difference between Warwick and Edinburgh/Glasgow. Surely it's worth an application considering getting into one of those 3 better universities virtually increases your chances by around 10 times. If you really wanted IB enough then the difference between AAB and ABB is small enough to cross with some motivation, surely.

Either way, ABB and Edinburgh University is going to make front office very difficult.

AAB and Warwick would still be difficult, but so much easier. If i were you i would work bloody hard to try and get into one of those 3.

UCL & Warwick are regarded equally when it come to banking recruitment, so just go where you think you'll prefer.

Also, there are plenty of IMB students who go into Tech & some MO roles, but very few who make it into FO, from what I've seen.

Best university out of these 4(for Bachelors) for a career in finance

My top choices in the UK:
    Nottingham- for Accounting and Finance
    Durham- for Accounting and Finance
I have also applied to 2 unis in Netherlands. I have received an offer from Rotterdam school of management for International Business Administration.
I have applied for the same course at Maastricht, but haven't received an offer yet.
So, which one do you think is the best?
As of now, I'm leaning towards RSM since it's a very international uni and it is highly ranked for its masters courses.

    RSM/Durham.
More RSM though, better international brand plus I've seen a considerable number of RSM interns around in the UK.
