I'm taking Fine Art A level and love it

I took the AS last year, obviously, along with 4 academic subjects, and found the first 6 weeks very challenging, as they were "challenging us" and pushing our boundaries, i.e. stepping away from tradistion Fine Art and into Modern Art

Depends where you are looking really. For example, Cambridge turns its nose up at Art yet Oxford "see academic value in all subjects except for General Studies".

It also depends on what you want to do; Art would be beneficial for an Architexture or Interior design course.

It also depends on your other subjects. Mine were highly traditional (Maths, Chemistry, English Literature, and History).

And it also depends on how good your gades are.

Way too much work?
I continued Art onto A2, as well as Graphics.. then I picked up an AS in History of Art this year xD
It is a lot of work though and I'm an unbelievable procrastinator. Managed to get a B in both Art and Graphics last year, which I was happy with.. only 2 sketchbooks and two final pieces for each ^^;;
This year though, I am still procrastinating.. but no where near as much as last year! Most of my free time at school is spent in the art department (it's literally like another home) and even though I keep thinking I'm so far behind I've actually done quite a lot of work compared to everyone else. Just make sure you do a bit of work each day and work steadily so you won't find yourself panicking as much. Also take every opportunity to take photos and go to galleries and things. Extremely useful to research and your work!
