King Lear and Paradise Lost. A big, fat f*ck all in terms of learned quotation; but then, I subscribe to the doctrine that, as regards English Literature, "one should either read a literary critic, or be a literary critic". My teachers would seem to sympathise with my opting for the latter; whether or not the examiner is so inclined, remains to be seen. Should the planets align in my favour, I can only hope for a reprise of last year's 'Shakespeare débacle'. Enough said
