Reading over last year's post to see what and when they actually knew about being shortlisted, it seems that the selection process has changed: They were able to apply to specific labs. I am worried that I may have messed up my application and obviously can't log back in to check. I wanted Microbiology in the North West and so I selected that, but there were two posts (Preston/Manchester) and it didn't ask to specify, as far as I remember. For those posts with more than one in the area, do they just assume you'd do any of them, or have I missed a section on the form?

It wasn't possible to apply to specific labs. They'll assume you are willing to do any of them in the North West region.

Then they'll assume right, I WISH THEY'D HURRY UP!!!!!

Thanks
So fed up of waiting now!!! Do people who have been given interview invites know when the interviews of each specialism take place then please? would just like to satisfy some curiosity and find out if an interview i may or may not get an invite for, would clash with my finals... :s-smilie:

thanks, although no biochem dates, so not much use for me. But can take the fact that there seem to be multiple possible dates as a positive from it. Im getting way too obsessed with this - i'm even talking hypothetically now! thanks again

didn't get through to the interview for microbiology :frown:
I didnt get an interview for reproductive science or immunology, but did get on the reserve list for biochemistry

Found out reproductive science yesterday and biochem and immunology today,

Happy to be on the reserve list, better than nothing!!
On the reserve list for Microbiology. So...what are the chances of someone dropping out and me getting a shot at this? Not very good I expect. Did anyone else get put on the reserve list last year and get through? GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
i don't think it's necessarily if people drop out. I think the reserve list is made to take into account that certain people will be wanted by more than one place so extra people have to be interviewed. I know that was the case when the individual hospitals looked at people themselves and then selected who they wanted to interview, not a panel choosing the best candidates as i think is the case now... sorry if this is just more confusing. In short I think you have a better shot than you think you do. I think you should be mainly happy that you've got an interview at all!

I got a rejection for micro :frown: and put on the reserve list for biochem. Still waiting to hear about haem. I'm taking the reserve list as a rejection as I can't see anyone dropping out :frown:

Sorry to hear that, but don't get downhearted yet. You never know how some people's circumstances might change. Fingers crossed for you!

Congrats to everyone who's been invited to interview.

So it seems that today is the day to hear back from micro, so I shall not leave the library until I know one way or another, as I've not had an email yet!

I like the spin you've put on it. Now I don't have to be hoping for bad things to happen to those who got interviews so that I can have a chance. The email was written almost as if there is a good chance of getting an interview, but I put that down to me clutching at straws. Has anyone heard that they HAVE got a micro interview?
Hi everyone

I am a new member here.
Has anyone got an interview for MSc Audiology? I got mine coming up soon at UCL and am feeling quite nervous. Any audiologists here who can give me some interview advise or tips?

Your replies will be much appreciated
also has anyone been told that they either HAVE or HAVEN'T got a biochem interview - only heard about ppl being on the reserve list? i guess another day to wait, surely not going to hang over easter weekend!

Hey I've applied for cardiac sciences also. Haven't heard anything, so will continue to wait obsessively by my emails.
Where have you applied to? Have you been able to arrange a visit to any of the labs?
Good luck.
