Speaking of 2nd hand books, is there a second hand sale in September? I missed out on selling my 1st year books last year, so would definitely like to do so this year.

You could try using that website developed by UCL students where people can buy/sell 2ndhand textbooks... Can't remember the name now, anyone? Last time I checked it was mainly focused on econ books though.

Yes! I've never wanted a sofa and then a bath more ever! But so much fun  plus money in the bank

What did you have to do? Guide sixth formers about?

I really want to get an email asking for people to do a study to do with the brain. I want an MRI scan. They look so cool (and I've convinced myself there's something in my head that shouldn't be there)

Yup, basically  it's surprising how many kids didn't care, and we're being dragged around by the parents. Really annoyed me, my parents never wanted to go to the universities.

And I applied for one of them, when I got an email about it. They sent me back an application form, but thei think they didn't like me when I sent it back :frown:
I have got some resits, do you know if the marks are capped at 50% (pass mark for PG)?
thanks

I have been at UCL for 2 years and I haven't had a good conspiracy theory chat or a debate with anyone, not even my current friends. Why? Because I don't go around telling people that I'm into conspiracy theories as they will think I'm a nut case, and maybe I am. :ashamed2:

So any tin foil hats out there? Does stuff like the NWO conspiracy interest you?

You can private message me if you don't want to disclose your true interests in public.

Peace.

thank you very much:smile:

I decided I'd let the Costa machine next to the shop rip me off today. But then when I was about to pay, it mugged me right off when it didn't have any cups left. So I spent the rest of my time on campus slowly and tiredly walking round avoiding militant socialists. My lack of glasses or contact lenses made that more difficult.
Does anybody know how competitive the jobs in the cafes/union are? I'd imagine very, but I'm thinking of going for it with no cafe-type experience (I've got pub experience but that's it) and don't know if I'd be wasting my time.

As far as I know for the cafe you need to have some previous barista experience - not for the bar, though. But with your pub experience you shouldn't have much trouble finding a job, just make sure you apply early.

Will they notify us when the results appear there?

Never have been in the past, assume it's no different this year, but it's usually much later in the month. Would have been very fortunate to see them today.

They always notify me a week after everyone has already posted their results on facebook. But anxious to know my score, too.

Your department/tutors should have your results and should be able to give them to you. Have you tried emailing your personal tutor?

I got an e-mail saying they were up, on the day they were up on portico.

I guess every department is different...
