Anyone here studied jazz dance and looked at its relationship with music?

I have been researching this lately and the BTEC specification says that we need to be able to ....

Understand the relationship between music and jazz dance
Relationship to music: use of rhythm; dynamic quality; different time signatures;
syncopation; accent; pulse; off beat
Different styles: eg primitive; gospel; traditional jazz; swing; soul; pop; musicals;
blues and rock; lyrical

You could go to www.findarticles.com and search Call it Post Jazz (Dance Magazine, 2004) for some information.

Hope this is of help. :0)
