Default Ready Steady recipe! (or the recipe challenge)

helloooo foodies! (and non-foodies)
People often come into F&D looking for advice for what to do with certain ingredients and the suchlike. So, i'm going to post a list of ingredients, and then ask people to compile possible recipes - it should produce some interesting ideas, as well as giving people an idea of certain flavour combinations.

Firstly the store cupboard you can use for all 'challenges' - as it's what you would probably have in.

Oils (olive, veg and sesame), vinegar (malt & balsamic), milk, butter, flour (plain and SR), garlic, chilli powder, S&P, eggs, sugar (granulated and icing) and some bread.

the first list for you to have a crack at:

Rump Steak
Tinned tomatoes
Basil
strawberries,
onion,
potatoes,
fusilli pasta
dried apricots,
Carrots,
A bag of salad.

enjoy

Chips and steak, with salad. It's highly unoriginal. Could do some kind of meaty tomato pasta alternatively.

Is sugar not a store cupboard ingredient too? Kind of limits desserts otherwise.

Steak with potato dauphinoise and tomatoes?! Or mashed potato and carrots! Highly original eh?!

Really anything other than straight steak would be a waste, pick a different meat/fish/meat substitute!

Pasta with tinned tomatoes and basil sauce, steak with roasted onions and chips.
salad is salad [o.0] just add the carrots to it too maybe? ...so we got strawberries and apricot left....bake a cake using those as some kind of topping? ...or just keep 'em to munch on just like that....

haha my ideas suck. good thread though -nods-
