If you don't get the right score, they will see your interviewer's analysis about you and they will decide. So the interview is mostly important for this, if you don't meet the conditional (which is pretty high).
Did they give you a reply to confirm your interview? I replied ages ago and I'm kinda freaking out as my interview is tomorrow and I realised they havent confirmed my reply yet(Original post by signalnoise)
I got an offer 3-4 days after the interview -
Re: Physics interview at ManchesterI think I sent them a letter to say I would be attending, it was fine, and I didn't get a confirmation.(Original post by DonWorryJockIsHere)

EDIT: You probably already know it's fine.. -

Re: Physics interview at Manchester
I'm a current student, I help out with the UCAS interviews and it turns out something I may have told some of you is incorrect.
When I said I had never seen Brian Cox, that was true, but I also said you will likely never see him. It turns out that from September he will be teaching 1st Year Quantum Mechanics. http://goo.gl/BqwtP -

Re: Physics interview at ManchesterLafferty >> Brian Cox, anyway. It'll be interesting to see if he's actually any good as a lecturer though...(Original post by dknt)
WHAT?!?! I don't care if I'll be a second year, I'm going to those lectures.
Shame though, you won't get to see the brilliance of the current lecturer for that course. George Lafferty is hilarious. -
Re: Physics interview at ManchesterJust curious as to what grades you guys' offers were based on for straight physics. I am hoping to apply for 2013 entry later in the year and was just wondering realistically what they would want. I am taking 3 sciences and f.maths for AS and dropping bio for A2, so I will have F.maths, chem and physics for full A level and bio for AS. A*AAAa or something like that?(Original post by zeropoint)

Re: Physics interview at ManchesterOn the website in the 2013 applicant section it says that the standard offer is going to be A*A*A-A*AA, if that's any help.(Original post by sorax123)

Re: Manchester University - Physics InterviewNot a suit, the people in suits always look a bit silly in my opinion. Already seen a few people in suits for the open days being toured through the labs - don't do that. If you dress neatly you could probably wear 'everyday' clothes. You don't need to dress up smartly, just avoid looking messy.(Original post by jackerharder)
But what do you wear to the interview?
Just to reiterate what has already been said, the interview is just a chat in most cases. There is the odd exception where an applicant is grilled with particle physics questions that were unreasonably hard (me
) but no-one else I spoke to had the same experience. I was very nervous in the lead up to my interview day - don't be, if you have been invited you have an offer. Congrats
. Manchester is a fantastic university for physics, I'm having a great time so far.
