Creative Writing MA at Sheffield Hallam

Hi,

my Dad is retiring in summer (he's an English teacher) and is thinking about doing the Creative Writing MA at Sheffield Hallam. He wants to know how this course compares to other creative writing masters? Also, if anyone has studied this course before, how did you find it?

Not quite what you asked (in fact not even remotely what you asked) but a friend of mine did the creative writing MA at Nottingham Trent and rated it very highly. That might be worth looking at for your dad, since Nottingham's eminently commutable from Sheffield.
A friend did it and he has now published one book and another being published in Apriland another latter in the year. This came from the contacts he made at Hallam, and the books are based on short pieces he did for the course.

Thanks for the replies :smile: And for the PM flexiblefish. My dad's boycotting nottingham trent because they're refusing to recognise his union, the UCU. So looks like that's out of the question :P
