No, I did health and social care AS - for like a year and at GCSE.
It's mainly to do with care aspects, so children, elderly and like minimal health issues.
I can't remember doing anything science related..

No, Health and Social care is not very well respected at all. It does not really count as a science, and is not seriously considered by most Universities and many employers.
Unless you are going into an area such as nursing or childcare I don't see how it would help you in any respect.

I don't do it, but I have seen my friends textbook and part of it is reading facial expressions, how to speak to children. I think it looks too easy and most unis seem to think so. Even my friend who loves it admits that it's really easy.

But if you want a career in childcare, it may be good to take. Otherwise don't do it, it's not science related at all.

Because it isn't very academic at all.

I used to do the administration for the award - I know how difficult it is, but it is NOT academic in the least. It pretty much tests nothing a university would want on, say, a Physics course.
