There don't seem to be many of us on the forum, so I was wondering who is applying for either Religious Studies or Theology, 2009? I know of a few people who are and of some who already have offers (well done! ), I'd just like to find some more hehe.
Feel free to list where you're applying to and which courses, and if you get any offers
I've applied to:
Bristol
Cambridge (Homerton)
Kings College London, offer ABB
Heythrop, offer 280 points
Cardiff, offer BBC
Really hoping Bristol will give me an offer, as it's my favourite!
Congratulations, can I ask why it's your favourite? By that do you mean that it's your first choice? I'd love to know since it's also one of the unis considering my app.

Everything about it is absolutely perfect for me . The course is my ideal! I can basically study purely Theology, and can delve into other religions if I choose, but I don't have to . The distance from home is perfect. I can nip home at weekends or whenever I need to, but I'm far enough away to be independent. I really liked the tutors there and the talk they gave at the open day was fantastic! I like the city itself too and the accomodation I thought was really nice . All the students who were there also seemed like my type of person, and I think it is somewhere where I'd be able to fit in qutie nicely
And yep, it is my first choice! I'm very, very ecstatically happy
No offers! But that interview is nice, however, will be rejected...as I'm not some crazy religion-orientated person, even though I love Theology!!
You sound just like me. I love theology, but it isn't everything to me, thoguh it definitely is what I want to do at uni! I think Cambridge would reject me straight awayat itnerview due to that reason I'm actually having second thoguhts about Cambridge, I just don't think it's right for me for many reasons, and I love Bristol a lot more! I have a LOT to think about.
oo, another applicant at homerton! my boyfriend was telling me today that he bets there are no other theology appicants at theology, then i logged on and saw this . are you going to stay at the college? my other interview is at emmanuel, where is yours?
Sorry late reply.
I did stay at the college and yeah my other interview at emmanuel where i had that passage from John 2?
What did you make of the faculty interviewer?
emma xx
I had the miracle of water into wine, which i think is john 2?
faculty interviewer was awful :|. he responded to nothing. the questions were impossible and a lot of them i just didn't know. i umm'ed and ahh'ed for ages so aplogised, and i thought he'd say 'no it's fine take your time' but he didn't. he just continued to stare :|. i came out a state, it was awful.
the other interviewers were all really nice though!
this is probably a long shot, but did i talk to you at the faculty? my interview was at half 2 with thompson.

And a Durham offer?!?! I am insanely jealous!!!! I want one!!!!
Ah, just found this thread! Good to see other Theology applicants; it feels like we're a rare breed.
So far I've had four offers. I'm still waiting on Durham - did you have an interview, Lilz911?

I'm just wondering what you mean by "purely Theology". I applied to Bristol last year, but was put off when I went to their open day - I want to do a fairly traditional Christian theology course with Biblical languages, but the Bristol course doesn't really allow for that. You are obliged to take half your modules in your first year in Buddhism and Hinduism (IIRC), so if you want to take a language you only have one other choice of module. You only get six essays a year, too, and six hours of contact time a week.
Congrats on getting an offer there, though - Bristol are particularly over-subscribed! The department seemed lovely, so if it's the course for you, I'm sure you'll love it there.
EDIT: Oh, also, Heythrop College is AMAZING. It's got Peter Vardy! If you haven't been to an open day yet, I'd suggest you go and have a look - the standard offer from them is low, but the quality of the course is very good indeed. Their library is huge, and you get one-on-one tutorials. If you don't get into Cambridge, I'd definitely recommend it!
