How old do you have to be to get your ears pierced without a parent?

How old do you have to be to get your ears pierced without a parent?I want to get another hole done in each of my ears but my mum isn't keen so I'm just going to go with friends instead. do you need parental permission to get your ears pierced, and if so, is written consent (which I can write myself
)?

Re: How old do you have to be to get your ears pierced without a parent?I thought you had to be 18 to have piercings without parental consent? At least, when I was 16 I wasn't allowed to have my ears pierced without my mum there.

AKA not Claires... Yes, I had mine done that way, but so many go wrong. I'd not recommend it at all =)
go to a real piercer instead!

Re: How old do you have to be to get your ears pierced without a parent?As people have said before, I think it's 16 to get your ears done without a parent there. Guns are okay for ear lobes, but anywhere with cartilige needs to be pierced with a needle.
18 to get piercings anywhere else without consent.
