Post Interrailing in Europe

Hey, i need a bit of help/advice please

My friend and I are planning a trip to Europe next summer (09) and are hoping to interrail through Spain, France and Italy over about a 2 week period, and we've started thinking about which cities we want to visit while we're there etc.

I had a look on the Europe Interrailing site - http://www.interrailnet.com/ - and could only see either a Global Pass, which allows you to go anywhere in Europe over a certain time span but it's too expensive for us really , or a Single Country Pass which wouldn't really be suitable.

Has anyone got any experience of interrailing, which pass is best, or have any ideas to how we should go about travelling?
Oh and we've got a limited budget so flying everywhere isn't an option!

Thanks a lot for any help

I'm going interrailing with my friends for three weeks - one of my friends has looked at the tickets, but we are getting a 22 day one, where you can travel on 10 of the days, to anywhere in Western Europe. I think it's about £200. On the official interrailing site there is a link to a good site for youth hostels, where you choose the city and then it gives you all the options with how much they cost.

Depends how many train rides you are going to be doing and what type (high speed trains and sleeper trains have extra money to be paid....).
My friend and I went through Germany, Poland, Hungary and Croatia and just bought the tickets as we went, and this proved to be a little cheaper.
