During periods does it feel and look as if blood is coming out of the anus, if you wipe there is there usually blood. Does it hurt also at the back

No this definitely doesn't happen to me, and it doesnt sound very normal. When you say it 'hurts' at the back do you mean backache?

Do you use tampons? Because if you don't, I imagine it could get a bit messy so you'll think the blood comes out the rear?

It could look as if it is, just because of...i can't think of a nicer word for this...the blood kind of seeping.
It shouldn't be painful, though...that sounds quite dodgy. Maybe wait until you're off your period and see if it's still bleeding from there?

I have ache in my lower back, but also pain from the anus, it feels as if blood is coming out of it and when i wipe there there's blood on the toilet paper

Well if it feels like your muscles hurt, then I will feel the same. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes I have really painful muscle contractions and then I can't sit or anything. You should really look if the blood just drips out of your vagina and then comes to your rear or if it really comes out your rear.

Well then Id say its probably just the blood...spreading as such... if you dont use tampons it may appear as if its coming from elsewhere/

Do you use tampons or pads?

If you use pads, the only think I can think of is that the blood is travelling down.

I use tampons in the day and pads at night, at the beginning of my period when I'm heavy I get blood there.

As someone else said, check if the blood is coming from your anus or vagina, if it's coming from your anus maybe go see a doctor?

If it is from you vagina and you are using pads why don't you try tampons? You may find a heavy flow one helps.

That doesn't sound normal at all. Why don't you just put in a tampon? If you still find blood in your underwear, then it means that the blood is coming from somewhere else, and you have a problem.

The doctor tells me this is fairly common but unsurprisingly people don't talk about it much. It could be a sign of endometriosis (womb lining growing in the wrong places) though, especially if there's actual blood coming out of your bum, so it might be best to go to the doctor even though it's embarrassing.
