For activity one i got the following:

Employed by Laura-Elle perfumes

Key decision to work out the whole sale price

In order to maximise profit

Also work out how much ingredients to buy for Steve

And how much perfume to make

Model created by Laura but is incomplete

Information given from department chain survey

Information given from Steve on ingredient cost and recipe

Information given from Rob on ingredient cost

Profit could also depend upon packaging/delivery or production

Does everyone else use trial and error when finding the optimal wholesale price?

I have so far and my maximum profit is £2,585,000 (approx.)

What is everyone elses?

Also, when finding the number of each perfume needed, is it just simply number of batches multiplied by number of bottles in each batch for each perfume? (one of the decisions you have to make for steve is the number of each perfume required)

I got a maximum of £2,725,653.12
I got this by seeing which one give the highest price by multiplying the Batches required at various Prices by Cost in GBP in the Survey Statistics sheet for each perfume.

yeah i think it would be Number of Batches x 100.

I got around £2,300,000 , but that was with the same wholesale price for the whole range.

I dont think in the exam we will have time to find the various prices if the data changes,

am I wrong? Does the input data change (the survey data)?

I can't be bothered to go and get my USB pen to check the exact number, but I know my best profit on Friday was just above 2.8 million. Took me a while though, I don't think I'll have time to get it as precise as that in the exam - I was trying prices by the penny.

yeah the data files will change, but there are marks that you can get for getting a certain amount of profit.

Activity 4 – Recommendations
You should now have enough knowledge about the situation to make a decision. Look carefully at all the information available, including the results of using the model, and decide on the best course of action.

Activity 5 – Evaluation
Write an evaluation of your solution that you have found.

What graph have you come up with ?
