Hi guys, dilemma here. I've applied to PPE in Oxford, got pooled into The Queen's College which doesn't give out interviews to international applicants for some dumb reason (that would be me). I've been waiting for a rejection for the past two weeks now but it hasn't came yet, and all my friends have got their interviews on the coming few days save me So just wondering, when will I hear back from Oxford? Same time as the rest of them?

Give them more time. Just because you haven't heard doesn't necessarily mean you've been rejected at all.

Same here. Applied to Exeter for English Lit. I thought maybe my letter has been stuck in the post as I live on tiny island with very outdated and slow postal service. I was also thinking of calling or e-mailing, but I don't think I want to know really but at the same time really really do. V. weird.

To everyone above...becuse you're international, I would ring the admissions secretary up and inquire as to your interview status. I just recieved my formal invite today. For some of you in more exotic/distant locales the post may be too slow to get the letter to you in time.

Thanks for the tip. Just of of utterly morbid curiosity, if you don't make the shortlist, do they ever tell you why? I think I've prepared myself well for the onslaught of possible rejection. However, I would love to know whether or not my coursework or personal statement was my failing.

Yup they should reply to us by mail,I got one from Oxford asking me for my phone number etc for an interview through mail..but nothing after that.
I mailed them today enquiring about my application status..hopefully they should reply soon..
What uni are you waiting for btw?

Well, Exeter College at Oxford. All the other unis I've applied to have already given me offers: St. Andrews, Exeter, Durham, York

You've kind of answered your own question ... they don't give interviews to international applicants, but they haven't yet seen their UK/EU applicants. So probably you're still under consideration for a place, in competition with those being interviewed next week.

Damn that's quick! Most internationals only have one or two if they gave in their apps three months ago, and some of my friends haven't got a single one and it's totally killing them!
