GCSE non-fiction media paper, OCR

Any one doing this/did this?

I am really bad on English lang,as it isnt my first language,however,I am ok with literature aspect.

Im retaking this paper in Jan,I know all of you guys would be brilliant with language skills, therefore could you tell me some tips for doing great in exams for this paper?Also, any time management,since I only have 1 hour and half.

Also, would reading newspapers,magazines really helpful?
Anymore tips?

Don't try and mention everything - spend the first 5 or 10 minutes of the exam planning out your essay by picking out the bits that relate most to the question asked most of all.

If you don't do this you could end up repeating yourself and making references to features in the texts that have nothing to do with the question being asked.
