Well if you're looking into it, you must have one or two of your own reasons.

Better to explore those first

lol i dont get it?

Do you want us to convince you to choose medicine. To be honest medicine is already so competitive that you should be sure whether or not you want to do it

I don't want to be racist, I was just wondering...

Why do so many of my Asian friends want to do medicine compared to my White friends?

I mean, is there a specific reason? Please don't ban me for this, it is an honest question! More of my White friends want to do Arts subjects.

I suggest you go to one of your 'asian friends' houses and speak to their parents regarding their son's (/daughter's) career choice

This should make things a whole lot clearer

That's not racist...

Well, this is an example, my mentor at school (yes, we get assigned mentors. Sad I know...) teaches Law. She's Asian and her parents told her, when she started her GCSEs, that she was going into Law or Medicine

Parents want their children to do well in education and get a good career. There's nothing else to it.

Also, asian parents LOVE comparing what their children are doing with their friends and family members, it's like a contest so see which child is doing the better course or has the highest salary, pretty funny really. Lol.

Thats what I thought. I know its not racist but I've posted stuff like this before on here and its been taken off. ALso you can't tell how people are going to respond these days.

Yeah I notice there is a lot of pressure, but in the end even if my parents continually put pressure on me I'd do as I want.

Yes but you can have a good career away from medicine or law. Good career does not equal good pay (e.g teaching).

I actually don't see anything wrong with that. At that age you need abit of pressure from your parents to work hard to get onto a good course.
