Hi A friend was asked in her oxford PPE interview to analyse the saying "buy on the sound of cannon". The question has something to do with war buoying up financial markets. I think it's a cool saying. Does anyone know where it comes from?
It's supposed to have been said by one of the Rothschild clan, though I'm not sure which one. Went with their strategy of buying on the outbreak of war, and doing pretty well from it.
