Why would you drop maths for spanish? Maths- especially mechanics is useful for when you study about physics as they are quite similar and many physics students chose maths with physics as physics is a hard subject withhout maths, so, I think dropping maths for spanish is not a good idea, it's just a suggestion though.
I'd say drop Biology for Spanish, but maybe I'm biased - I did the same 3, plus French
And as jhyzone said, dropping Maths is a bad idea - particularly if you plan to do Physics or Chemistry at university.
The subjects you've chosen are all very difficult subjects to maintain a perfect grade at - so as long as you know you're absolutely dedicated to getting good grades in them, you're fine. The worst thing you could possibly do is pick a bunch of academically challenging courses when you're more into procrastination than you are into breathing.
Like what has already been said, dropping Maths for Spanish is ill-advised. Taking a secondary language is good, but maths is verrrrry useful and widely recognised as a difficult course - getting a good grade it in makes it all the more worthwhile.
If you were going to drop any of them for spanish, i'd go for physics. Some Veterinary Science courses require chemistry, and others biology, and you wouldn't want to have your choices reduced. Why do your choices have to be in so soon? Surely they dont have to be finalised until enrollment day after your results?
guys off-topic, but I am choosing AS Level Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Sociology. Is it possible if I could do 5th AS which is Maths? because even though I am very weak at that subject, i think it is really essential for any science subjects for university and that, but is AS Maths with Statistics hard though, coz I don't think I maybe able to do it but my sister said it was just like a GCSE revision but in-depth, should I follow her advise and do AS maths or dont?
I know i am an academic students and my predicted grades are mostly As and A*s. So please any advice offered would be helpful thanks.
I agree with Jenny, Physics is the least relevant to your course. And Spanish would be a nice break from the sciency-ness.
Languages always look good as well.
*Biased. :P

Ah, I didn't see the veterinary science bit. Then yeah, I agree with that ^
What are you all talking about? You don't even need maths for vet med.
Spanish would be a great contrast to your science subjects that universities would really appreciate - it will show that you're not just a one trick pony that is only good at the sciences, and will help you stand out from all the other applicants.
If you're going to drop any, I would drop physics. The core ones you need are biology and chemistry.
You're already applying now?
Well, some subjects won't fit into timetables and such so you'll most likely have to pick 5 first which will get dropped to 4, well that's how it worked for me on my applications anyway.

maths helps ALOT with vet studdies for starters. Physics helps with biophysics in my opinion m8 it will be much more usefull to you if you did maths and 3 sciences but whatever you do DONT NOT TAKE MATHS ITS TOO VALUBLE.
Wow thank you for all of your help. Weirdly my school wants them in the second day back after christmas. We only put down 4 choices and they do the A Level timetables first so that 9 times out of 10 we get what we want. Is the consensus(sp) of this to do the 3 sciences and then maths? Also i should mention that my school does a maths for science course so if i didnt do maths then i would still be able to get help with the calculations and stuff. I should probably ask if it matters that i dont really like the spanish teachers at my school and should this influence my decision?
thanks and sorry for being a pain
sorry i just realised this wasnt the thread i started on this, but hey wow pink pig we are aiming in the same direction!!! Please help me though- hope i didnt break any of the rules!!!

I think they usually like you to have Biology and/or Chemistry and sometimes another maths/science, but soemtimes just a third subject. But your 4th AS doesn't really matter, just as long as your A2 fits the bill i think
people i know this isnt my thread but hey should i take physics or spanish if i am doing biology, chemistry and maths? And no- will never take 5 in a million years!
