having chosen wadham as my college of choice partly because of its ability to provide a varied/exciting social life, I was wondering if I will even be able to maintain a social life if studying in Oxford?! I was wondering if oxfords freshers week is 'crazy' like those of other universitys? I hope so....

Its far from unusual to go out every night of freshers. I went out 5/6 only missing one because i medically needed more sleep.

Most people I know went out every night in freshers week. A lot of people I know still go out quite frequently during term (clubs about 3 nights a week, then room parties/bars a few other nights). I think as long as you get a decent set of friends who aren't all obsessed with working you can have a good social life (but it's hard to compare to other unis seeing as I've never actually been to any of them)

yeah social life is fine-freshers week is as crazy as you make it,theres no shortage of places to go.
