Hej,

Congrats on the interview offer
The interview is around ½hr or a bit less, with a member of the dept whose interests most match yours & the course you're applying for usually, like people applying for straight scandy studies doing Swedish as the lang will get the Swedish language teacher. You'll probably get one of the historians. They'll let you know who it is beforehand, or you can go on the departmental website and do a bit of guess work by looking at the staff profiles! (Shouldn't be too hard to work out who you're likely to get!) You chat with them about why Scandy studies/why you chose your a-level(or equivilant) subjects/anything you've mentioned in your PS. Stuff like that. If you already speak some of one of the Scandy langs they might try to talk to you a bit in the language, but it's completely fine if you don't speak any of the langs (they don't expect you to be able to!)

I'm first year straight Scandy Studies, so not quite the same, mais oui, I'm enjoying it muchly, like the majority of the course, the staff are all lovely and cos the dept. is so small everyone knows each other, and it's quite close-knit and friendly. Is there anything you wanted to know about in particular?

There's a Scandy studies thread within the UCL forum somewhere already (should still be on the first page) where there are more current students/applicants, so you might have more luck posting there

Hej då,
