Are you sure we're not the same person?

I am in the same situation, although I refuse to hand it in tomorrow. What are they going to do distract me

I have to hand in a similar sized piece of work (12 or so sources, 3,000 words, properly referenced etc) by 6pm tomorrow and I haven't even started the reading. It's easy enough if you just concentrate and power through it.

Yeah you just have to be selective in your reading and good at seeing parallels between things. I managed to find lots of my books online so its quicker to get notes from them that way. Theyve let me extend the draft deadline to friday so im happier.

mine is due tomorrow. i want to DIE. my coursework is crap.
mine was thursday but i had food poisoning or something last week. Good as it gave me more time on it when i got better this weekend. handed it in next lesson which is tuesday. Well a rough copy anyway we still have till March 28th to finish it.

Mine sounds like a narrative though in a way, im not really sure, it seems to take the format:

Historian A has this opinion of the cause, he backs himself up with these facts. These other facts(that i have found) would also back up his claim however X part of his argument is weakened by Y fact or historian B who says this.

Another cause, cause B, is that this happened. Historian C and D agree with this and have this evidence to prove it. However Historians C and D's data has been found to be flawed by historian E who says it's inaccurate manipulate of the facts. However historian C challenges this.

This examination of objects and bodies from the time period shows this. Historian C says this is further proof and makes historians E's claim irrelevant. Furthermore other finds from the period say this and this makes historian F back up historian C.

Basically it seems to be a lot about views of historians. Possibility because my study is in medieval times so there are not a lot of primary sources but I'm not sure if it's the way they want it. I'm going to ask the teacher, he cant tell me directly but can give very vague hints apparently.
Grr it takes so lonnnnggggg
does anyone know if it's highly frowned upon to sit on the fence slightly in your conclusion?

Since my essay has to do with the cause of the black death. After looking at all the different theories put forward by historians I have come to the conclusion that the alternate theories carry enough weight as to effect the credibility of the classically accepted theory bubonic plague was the cause but that until conclusive tests can be carried out on bodies from the time period, if indeed it ever can be, no one theory has enough evidence to proof it correct. Basically that the debate continues.

So although I've said the original theory may not be true, I have sat on the fence. Not sure if this is a good thing. I mean I can only go were the historians theories and facts I've found can take me, but not sure if your meant to ultimately say, "yes its true" or " no its false" to your original essay question.

I hate this coursework
But I think mine's mostly done
2694 words about right?

I did mine on the Vietnam War and the ultimare reasons for America's withdrawal.

Mine's due monday. But they might give us it back if something small needs to be changed.

So glad I'm done. :woo:

yeah, 2694 sounds pretty darn perfecto

mine's due next thurs :s-smilie: I've got 2,000 words so far, but I think I may end up 3,000 + which is BAD BAD BAD :frown:
Handed mine in today :O

2999 words... but im not really happy with it. Used more than 20 sources and spent ages doin it, but I don't think its a good argument. The more sources you use, i think the harder it is to make an argument because you get persuaded of one line of thinking, and then confused by about 10 other differing ones. It was also quite pretentious (i had a big quote in latin lol).

I have yet to do more than a very detailed plan. I need to turn 1500 words of plan into 3000 words of essay by monday :frown: I had so much other coursework to do that history got put at the bottom of the pile until now :frown:

i've done 2,300 with still at least 2 paragraphs to go. TBH I don't actually really like what I've done so far, simply because I think my argument is rubbish. But we've still got a month until the deadline, so I'll just use that time to improve it :frown:

1400 words with no intro so far  I have an idea of what I'm arguing - this isn't as bad as I thought it would be! 7 sources used so far
I hate this so much though :shifty: I'm aiming for 2000 by the end of the night. Stupid fun-killing coursework :frown:

Does anyone know how this piece of coursework gets marked? What I am trying to get it as how clued up will the examiner be for each topic? If he is marking investigations from loads of different schools then perhaps he will have encountered similar questions before, but if the examiner if more specialised, his knowledge is bound to be more limited...

My History teacher said they just have a mark scheme by their side and see if you've hit all the criteria etc.
