Going according to music, it started before Beethoven died (1827) so I'd say at about 1810 summat like that, but you're bound to get a lot of different answers, this is just my 2 cents

There is never a definite start date for things like this. The Romantic era is generally considered to originate in the second half of the eighteenth century stretching to the first half of the nineteenth century. I would say it was at its height from about 1800-1830. William Blake is generally considered to be the first Romantic poet and he starting writing in the 1770s.

There are so many different answers on the internet for example on wikipedia it says it orginated 'second half of the 18th century' also another source says 'in the 1770s, by the 1820s'. Am just confused so all your help is needed.

Thanks

Saying the second half of the 18th century and the 1770s onwards equates to roughly the same thing really in practice.
