I don't know whats going on, I'm finiding D1 hard and people tell me its really easy I don;t know if I'm like thinking about it wrong but I just don't get it, it doesn't click, I've got 2 good teachers so it can't be them, I mean everything from Linear Programming to Simulation to remembering the Algorithms I mean everything is just a haze, I'm in panic mode as my exam is in Jan and I'm clueless, any hints on what to do, is it worth it getting a revision guide now? My exam board is OCR MEI. In class we didnt get to start Simulation, teacher gave us a dice and told us to have a go during holiday. I love my maths and its really stressing me that I can't do D1 Waht to do...what to do any ideas or suggestions or does anyone wanna make me feel better by telling me they failed it? lol If I was offered a C right now I'd take it!!

Try not to panic, I found that D1 was my most difficult module last year. It's essential that you've learn the algorithms accurately. It's also advisable to look at the mark scheme: they're often persnickety and want answers phrased in a certain way. It's a module that rewards meticulosity.

Thanks Dude, I knw yeah some of the questions they ask don't make sense, then looking at the Mark Scheme its mad that they want you to come up tih the answer they have. I took FM cause I wanted to do the FP stuff didn't know I had to do D1

just practice practice, the questions are pretty much exactly the same every year.

I found it a bitch to learn, but the couple of papers i've looked at are piss easy. Confidence comes with time, and practice.

Out of D1, S1 and M1 I got the worse mark in D1 so don't worry about finding it hard even though everyone else says its easy.
Its alot to remember but just keep on reading through the book and then try and do all the past papers! Its more of a memory test I find it rather than maths.

D1 is something I won't miss at A2, but I am finding it fairly easy.

Thanks all, it does look all easy I admit that but there's just something about it that doesn't click with me arrghh, I'll do loads of papers as suggested and hopefully I'll be all set for my Jan module!

D1 is pretty easy when you're learning it. but when it comes to doing past papers, it starts off really really hard (it gets easier after a while). don't worry about it. you probably find it hard because you're thinking about it more than other people.

I taught myself this module. A lot of it felt awkward. But then I got to the end of the module and it fell into place. Then just practice practice practice until you can do a paper quickly and nail it (using the mark scheme). That's all I did I got full UMS in the actual test.

Yh I've been working on practice papers and it aint exactly been going good cause I've taken wayyyy longer than an hour and a half to complete, I'ma keep on practicing however!

Yeah try to do it in the time if possible, but I didn't finish the paper in time (there were literally 3 or 4 marks I didn't have answer for) and I got full UMS - so, it seems that sometimes they don't expect you to finish the paper.
