Re: Ultimate Maths Resource Thread
I have just looked through every page of this thread and the "A-level maths resources" thread to look for a website and couldn't find it

So I was wondering if anyone else had the link (long shot I know
) it was a website that was like a textbook for all maths and it was split into topics (pure, further pure, mech, etc.) and then chapters under each heading. I think it was run by some uni possibly? Sorry for the vague description
Many thanks if anyone can find it!

Re: Ultimate Maths Resource Thread
Website I've just found, don't think it's on here: http://www.brightstorm.com/
Also has science topics... I haven't looked through properly but it has A LOT of Maths topics - from basic algebra to calculus, including Further Maths topics. Has explanations and then some worked examples (video format), I'm finding it really useful... definitely worth checking out. -

Re: Ultimate Maths Resource Thread
Here is a site I find very practical:
Numerical Tools for Students
From here, there are links to several free, immediate-for-use, math tools that perform the most common numerical tasks students might need, but without the cost of having to purchase a commercial software package. If you are doing homework at 3 am and don't have access to the school's software, the tools on this site are a real life-saver. -
Re: Ultimate Maths Resource Thread
Some one please help me to do these Edexcel AS Maths Questions?
Its from core mathematics book 1. Mixed exercise 1I.
I dont know how to do 4f and 8c and 8d.
Here are the questions, I used Microsoft word to write it and it is not as what I want but it kinda looks like my work in the book.
4f) 6 – 5x – x2
-x2 – 5x + 6
(x + 6) (x – 1) but the answer is (1 – x) (6 + x)
8c) 3/√3 – 2 x √3 + 2/√3 + 2
3√3 + 6/1 but the answer is – 3 √3 -6
8d) √23 - √37/√23+√37 x √23 - √37/√23 - √37
23 + √23 x - √37 - √37 x √23 +37/23 – 37
60 √- 851 x √- 851/-14
60 x 851/ - 14 but the answer is 30 - √851/ - 7 -
