Default Moles of electrons???

This is a wierd question:

How many moles of electrons are in one mole of OH- ions?

Does it basically mean how many electrons are in an 0H- ion?
Well then my answer would be:

8 (electrons in oxygen) + 1(electron in hydrogen) + 1 ( electron because of the negative sign)

is that the right way to go about it?

Yup.

Mole is the unit of amount, there's 6.02 x 1023 things (atoms, molecules, ions, cows) in one mole.

So as there are 6.02 x 1023 OH- ions with 10 electrons in each ion then there are 6.02 x 1024 electrons which is ten moles

I was doing questions on a paper and this came up. There are eight electrons in the OH- dot and cross (assuming it's bonded to something metallic), I don't understand where the other two come from.

the mole is just a number.... like a billion, or a dozen, etc.

Yes, I do know that. I don't see how your post answers my question.

There are eight electrons in oxygen 1s22s22p4 then one for hydrogen and one because of the charge
