Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

    Burn After Reading
I'm watching it at the moment and Brad Pitt's character is hilarious, I keep laughing out loud..oh dear.
other than that I find it hard to concentrate on it, specially after watching Being John Malkovich recently, I just keep expecting John to break into the puppet dance from ther film...

One hopes it's a decent copy. Cam, Telesync or Screener? :p:

I loved Burn After Reading! We started trying to figure out what the plot was...after half an hour we realised there was none! Brilliant.

Weird ass film. Funny but just so random and pointless! Just left the cinema feeling a bit like..
And i felt sorry for Pitts character, he didn't deserve that

    How was there no plot?

Malkovich has a drinking problem. Fired from his job. Writes down memoirs. Cheating wife steals them and puts them and puts them on a CD for divorce procedures. CD ends up with Chad and Linda. They try to blackmail Malkovich to pay for Linda's surgery. They take them to the Russian embassy. Clooney (Harry) meets Linda via Internet dating. Chad pokes about in Malkovich's house. Clooney comes back. Chad dead (:awesome:). Clooney realises he's killed Linda's friend. Linda's lover (I forget the name) persuaded to sneak into Malkovich's house. Malkovich gone crazy and shoots the poor guy. CIA officer then kills Malkovich. Clooney flees to Venezuela. Linda bribed into being quiet. The CIA guy in charge is like "lol wat?". End.

Well, that's at least what I think happened :o: Quite an in-depth plot I thought. Brad Pitt was hilarious.

I wonder what happened to the two wives. Surely they'd need some explanation of why their husbands are dead. :woo:

I bursted out laughing when he got shot though. The vacant, idiotic grin he had on his face just before he was shot.

It's classic Coen. You either get it or you don't. Unfortunately it seems like a lot of people (that I know) seem to not like this movie at all whereas I absolutely loved it.

It isn't the best Coen brother's film by any means, but it's still pretty damn solid.

I loved it. Brad Pitt was hilarious, which is strange because I've never really liked him, but I watched him in Burn after Reading and a day later his guest appearance on friends and was laughing so much, so I guess I'm converted.

Like the above said though, it isnt the Coen's best film. Having only watched Fargo a few days before I had quite high expecations, but I still enjoyed it.

Overrated so much, but still a good comedy.

Nowhere near the Coens best though. Fargo and No Country For Old Men are that.

I actually found the best humour in Fargo funnier than the best humour in this.
