CPT6 Help with linking

For my CPT6, i am trying to link two tables i.e. when i tick a box in one table it updates in another table.
Well in context, what i am trying to do is link an attendance table with an applicants table so when one date is ticked, the date in the applicants table is ticked too.

My question is i have set up a 1 to 1 relationship with the primary keys of the two tables but it still doesnt work. How do i get it to work?
