Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
Ok, so I sent my UCAS off on the 18th of December and still haven't even recieved a welcome letter!! I'm starting to panic a little.
The UCAS website says if it's not delivered within 14 days then I should contact them, so I haven't done anything yet... Plus it's Christmas, so I figured UCAS may not be as active.
The confusing thing is that although my ucas says:
"The current status of your application is:
Your application has been sent for consideration."
... I got an email from one of the Universities I applied to, the title being: "Applicants' Portal at the University of Nottingham"
And nothing else from any of my other unis.
So should I contact them a little earlier about this? Or is this normal?
Re: Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
Na don't contact them yet. I dont think uni's are open till 5th jan - you applied late/where they get the chunk of their applicants so it might have taken some time for the acknowledgement to come through. You have a Nottingham ack, so i'm guessing there isnt anything wrong with the UCAS. just give it time =]
Re: Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
I was in the same situation as you. I got that message thing when i logged into Apply, and got a email from track before I got my welcome.
You don't need the welcome letter, it's pointless UNLESS you don't know your username and password for track. However, you can get this by answering your security questions
Re: Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
I guess I don't need it because I do know my track, password and username... But it's just that UCAS track actually says: "Your application has been sent for consideration."
THAT'S confusing me. When is my application going to finish being "considered"?!
Is that an acknowledgment from Nottingham? I didn't really realize that was... I was expecting an email from UCAS. Haven't got any from them yet.

Why should that confuse you? Surely you submitted your application precisely because you want the universities to consider it? Each one will take its own time about it and predictions about when you might hear something are worthless, though UCAS has a page about what their target dates are.

Have you tried clicking the "choices" link at the top of the track page? That should list your choices and any decisions they have made. I applied on the 5th, still haven't got my welcome letter but I've still heard back from all my choices. Nothing to worry about.
Re: Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
I sent mine off on the 19th and got my UCAS letter today. I wouldn't worry, it took 2 weeks or so for my boyfriend and he already had like 3 offers. Calm down
Re: Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
As for acknowledgements they will come directly from the universities if they even do them. Acknowledgements are just another way to make sure you're application has definitely been sent where it should but not all universities send them and as long as you are able to log on to track you can be sure your application has been received.
The welcome letter doesn't tell you anything you don't already know so I wouldn't worry about not having that yet.
Re: Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
how come u guys can log in to track without the welcome letter?
i get this message when i go on the track page:

Log in to Track
You'll need your Personal ID and the same username and password you used to complete your application in Apply. If you are still completing your application, please log in to Apply.
people above are saying u can log in without the letter... i can't...i type in the same username and password for UCAS apply and the personal ID number found on the UCAS apply welcome page but it says 'invalid login details' on track... is this because i haven't got the welcome letter by post yet?

it'll say this until you have chosen your firm and insurance.

ohh... I thought that by "considered" it meant that my application hadn't actually been sent to my universities yet, and UCAS was still looking at it!
Ok. Slight relief. Now I'm just going to scare myself over why I haven't got any offers/rejections yet.
Thanks for all the information everyone!!
Good luck to others also waiting for replies

Just give it a few more days; UCAS takes a working day or two to put it on the system or whatnot.
I had an offer before my welcome letter.
It goes like:
Day 1: sent off.
Day 3-5: Can access Track.
Day 5-8: Get Welcome Letter.
But that's just really rough, best of luck, I hope you get in to your first choice =)

Hey. I'm the same as you! At least you got one acknowledgement, and track didn't work for me for the first few days either. I want at least a couple of acknowledgements and my welcome letter!
p.s. how do you spell acknowledgement i don't know if i put an extra "c" in the beginning thanks :p
Re: Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
no need to panic, think about it, nobody works in Christmas day.
i sent my app on 22th and i haven't received my letter or any offers, just an email from Birmingham
i believe that it's gonna get solved until 10 Jan.
best of luck to all
Re: Help!! Still no welcome letter or acknowledgments :(
Mine took a little while to come through. Just remember, it's the Christmas period, and also the postmen have been on strike. Wait a couple of more weeks and you ought to start receiving info from UCAS and your chosen unis

I could get into track the same day it was send. I just used the forgot password option and it gave me my personal ID.
